The Proof is a science-based podcast hosted by Simon Hill, helping you live better for longer. I’d been working with Simon for a while at this point, but it was time for the original brand—Plant Proof—to grow into its next chapter, which meant an entire rebrand.

The brief for was to completely redesign the brand in a way that puts science at the core, yet still having a down-to-earth and non-intimidating feel. One of the main goals here was to broaden the target audience – we needed to create something that would appeal to both a 25-year-old fitness fanatic, and a retiree. This new brand identity needed to feel both gender and age neutral, and to feel like it’s science-based-nerdy-information made cool. AND cool enough that you’d want to wear it on a tee.

This design system was completely strateigically created, with every single little piece of the puzzle playing its own part in bringing the brand together. As part of this rebrand, I introduced pillars that each and every different podcast episode, ebook, post and piece of informative content could fall into. This played part in building the Hex icon, as well as the introduction of six different accent colours that correspond to each pillar. This was a way of categorising and organising Simon’s content in a visual way, making it easier for his audience to engage with the different types of content that align with their interests.

This resulted in a strong new brand identity with a much more elevated and sleek look and feel.

On The Proof Podcast, Simon has science-based conversations with world-leading experts where they dive deep into the science, but break it down and make the evidence easily digestible for Simon’s listeners, readers and followers.

Simon’s best-selling book, The Proof is in the Plants, goes into the science around the benefits of eating a plant-based diet, and its benefits for humans, animals and the planet.

100% of the proceeds are donated to Half Cut, a not-for-profit organisation who are working to stop deforestation in the Daintree Rainforest in Queensland, Australia.
